Cultivating a New Life is a small group, private practice offering culturally-affirming psychotherapy and Peer Support Specialist Training. Our mission is to expand access to service for those who might not usually seek it, including members of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.
Therapeutic conversations for all
My Approach
Our life’s journey is like Kintsugi—a traditional Japanese art of mending broken pottery with lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. In this way, the cracks become a testament to the history and resilience of the object, making it even more beautiful and unique. This is how I approach therapy: as a way to help you reclaim the pieces of yourself that trauma has taken away, piecing them together with the gentle power of self-compassion, so that you can meet and embrace the whole, authentic version of yourself.
Individual Therapy
In these sessions, we focus on recognizing what happened to you, to your community, and to your ancestors. We identify your current coping abilities, survival strategies and learn more about mechanisms of trauma. You will develop your own unique wellness skills and tools by employing your own strength and gifts. You are going to further explore what happened to you and process your past experiences with the approach most suited to you.
